Green Steps Staff
Mark Boulet
Manager – Education, Monash Sustainability Institute
Mark has been with Green Steps for the last 5 years as a trainer and has more recently stepped into the role of managing the program (as well as Monash Sustainability Institute’s other education projects).
Mark's adventures in the environment field began as an undergraduate studying zoology and ecology, after which he spent two years working on environment education programs in Thailand. While studying for his Masters of Environmental Science at Monash University, he was lucky enough to get the job coordinating the University's newly formed Green Office program. This lead to the position of Environmental Advisor, in which he focused on providing environmental resources, and changing the awareness and behaviours of Monash staff and students.
Since then, he has worked with environmental education experts the Gould Group, spent some time in the Office of the Victorian Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability and a year at Environment Victoria, delivering community sustainability education programs.
Mark and his partner have a baby daughter, and he is more than happy to spend time showing off his endless series of baby photos.
Anna Lohse
Training Coordinator
Anna has recently joined the Green Steps team as Training Coordinator. She is responsible for the training package, training new trainers, and organising Green Steps courses around Australia.
Anna has a Bachelor of Arts, Resource and Environmental Studies and began working in the environmental field with Conservation Volunteers Australia, setting up their first Wollongong office and managing community and industry volunteers on a priority wetland site in NSW. She then moved on to manage some of their national corporate partnerships in their Head Office in Ballarat. From there she went on to work with the University of Ballarat managing their sustainability program which addressed resource efficiency and staff and student behaviour change.
Anna completed the Future Sustainability Leaders Program in 2007 and looking to broaden her experience, moved into the Victorian State Government, first within the Department of Sustainability and Environment and then with Sustainability Victoria. In both roles Anna supported Victorian Government agencies to improve the environmental performance of their organisation through procurement policy and the Resource Smart program.
