Biography

Colleen works in the Faculty of Engineering at Monash University as a Senior Research Fellow.

Colleen's research is focused in the light metals area, and is primarily concerned with the development of mechanical properties through alloy development and microstructure manipulation. An understanding of the fundamental deformation mechanisms in magnesium, aluminium and titanium alloy systems is combined with the development of novel microstructures, through modifications to nucleation mechanisms, precipitation behaviours and thermomechanical processing routes, to generate alloys with unusual mechanical properties at both room and elevated temperatures.

 

Colleen is the Assistant Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Design in Light Metals.
