Choon Wang is a lecturer in the Department of Economics.
Choon's research interests are in the areas of the economics of education, labour economics, development economics, public economics, health economics, and applied econometrics. Choon obtained his PhD in 2010 from the University of California San Diego, where he was a Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellow. After completing his PhD, Choon joined the World Bank's Development Research Group's Human Development and Public Services Team in Washington DC as a post-doctoral researcher, while on unpaid leave from Monash University. At the World Bank, Choon wrote several research papers in the area of human development and public services and provided technical and policy assistance to the governments of Lesotho and Malaysia. Choon joined the Department of Economics in October 2011.
