Biography

Geoff’s background is in residential adolescent care, juvenile    justice, high school biology teaching, university science teacher    education and, more recently, health professional education. His    learning and teaching activities have focused upon how to cater for    learner diversity, curriculum design and innovative teaching    strategies. He has particular interests in loss and grief education,    the development of engaging and challenging learning environments    and effective teaching in general. Geoff has conducted research in    intensive care nursing education, national organ donation education    and has managed a variety of program evaluation studies in the    education and health domains. His current research activities are    are focused on the use of lectures for promoting student engagement    and higher order thinking.
