Biography

Farshid Navissi is a professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance. 

Farshid joined Monash University in 2005. For 17 years prior to this he was with the Department of Accounting and Finance at Auckland University. His research interests include archival research in financial accounting, auditing and capital markets. His specific areas of research interests include earnings quality, cost of equity, auditor selection decisions, audit fees, event studies, regulations and cross disciplinary research in financial and management accounting. His teaching responsibilities have primarily been in financial accounting/capital markets at the honours level. Farshid has published in leading international journals including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Financial Research and Journal of Management Accounting Research.
