Biography

Wenli Cheng is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics.

Wenli obtained her PhD in Economics from Monash University in 1996. She has a wide range of research interests including international trade and finance, economic development, environmental economics, inframarginal economics and Austrian economics.  She has published in reputed journals such as Economic Theory, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Review of International Economics, Economic Record and Journal of Economics among others.

Prior to her academic career, Wenli had nearly 10 years of work experience first in the government and then in an economic consulting firm. She has advised many government and private sector clients on various issues, including mergers and acquisitions, pricing, and intellectual property rights.
