I am a lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Monash University and have academic experience in the field of midwifery, nursing, policy and program development and accreditation consultation. I have been teaching into both the Nursing and Midwifery programs since 2005. My prior clinical work has been in both community and hospital settings which include Community Nurse, Women’s Health Nurse, Family Planning Educator, enhanced Maternal and Child Health nurse and Midwife.
My research interests and activities include midwifery and nursing education strategies, models of midwifery care, working with vulnerable populations and chronic illness. I am completing a PhD “exploring the lived experiences of midwives who work with women who use illicit drugs” using hermeneutic phenomenology.
