Biography

Jeff works in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University as a Lecturer, and with the Monash e-Research Centre as a software specialist. He completed his Ph.D. at Monash University in 2004 and both his Masters and Bachelors degrees in Computer Science at De La Salle University in Manila. His areas of expertise and research are in computer networks and distributed systems. His Masters thesis was on distributed load balancing and his Ph.D. thesis was on distributed databases and data integration with metamodels. His current projects with postgraduate students deal mostly with management, security and connectivity issues in computational grids and other distributed systems.

Research & Supervision Interests

I am interested in most things that relate to distributed computing on the infrastructure or service side of things. However, I currently focus on the management, security, and connectivity issues in computational grids. I am also interested in data integration issues and metadata management, as well as network management.
