Phillip Lipton is a senior lecturer in the Department of Business Law and Taxation.
Phillip joined the Department of Business Law and Taxation as a senior lecturer in July 2005, and is currently the course director of the Master of Business Law. Prior to joining Monash, he was an associate professor at RMIT in the School of Accounting and Law.
He is a co-author with A. Herzberg and M. Welsh of the leading textbook Understanding Company Law (Thomson Reuters), which is currently in its 16th edition. He is also co-producer of the award winning corporate law website Understanding Company Law.
Phillip is the chair of Company Secretaries Australia Corporate Governance Subject Advisory Committee.
His research and supervision interests include: legal history, in particular company law history; company law and corporate governance.
