Biography

Hanan is a Senior Lecturer and Pharmacist Academic at the School of Rural and Indigenous Health, Monash University in Australia. She provides advisory, mentoring and developmental support to pharmacy students, and pharmacists practicing in the University Department of Rural Health (UDRDH) areas at Monash University in collaboration with Melbourne University.

Hanan is also the Director of the Centre for Chronic Disease Management, an affiliated centre of the Joanna Briggs Institute, specialising in evidence transfer and utilisation for clinicians. The aim of the centre is promote the development and implementation of evidence-based health care in chronic disease.

Hanan‘s background in pharmacy and evidence-based health care education provides a wealth of experience in teaching a variety of topics in medicine, nursing and pharmacy across the School of Rural health, the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

In addition to her education portfolio, Hanan undertakes research into medication management, chronic diseases and evidence based health care across rural health settings as diverse as aged care, hospitals and community health services. Notably, her research into medication management in aged care was highlighted in the 2011 Snapshot of Australian Primary Health Care researchers as an outstanding example of local primary health care (PHC) research funded through the Primary Health Care Research Evaluation and Development (PHCRED) Strategy.
