Biography

Dr Chenxia Shi is a senior lecturer in the Department of Business Law and Taxation.


Chenxia has taught commercial law, corporations law and trusts, Australian company law, comparative corporate law and Chinese business law in undergraduate and graduate programs.

She has received 10 internal and external grants and awards for her research, including a prestigious Endeavour Research Fellowship awarded to her by the Australian Government and a Dean’s Commendation for Excellence in Research Publication. She has been invited as a visiting scholar to a number of Chinese universities and research institutions. She is appointed as an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Research Centre for Financial law and Regulation and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

She has authored a research book and published more than 20 chapters in books and articles in journals across Australia, United States, Hong Kong and China such as the University of New South Wales Law Journal, Arizona Journal of International & Comparative Law, Hong Kong Law Journal and Peking University Journal of Legal Studies. She has also made numerous presentations at local and international conferences and seminars, and was interviewed by the media on corporate governance in China.

Her research and supervision interests include Chinese business law and regulation, comparative corporate governance, comparative corporate law, financial market regulation, law reform and social development in China. She is available to supervise local and international PhD students in these areas.
