Maria is a lecturer in the Faculty of Law, Monash University. Her teaching and research interests are administrative law and international refugee law. She has also undertaken research in the area of international human rights law.
She is the author of a number of international and national publications on the subjects of refugee law, administrative law and international human rights law including: ‘The intersection between the international, the regional and the domestic: Seeking asylum in the United Kingdom’, in S. Kneebone (ed), Refugees, Asylum Seekers and the Rule of Law: Comparative Perspectives Cambridge University Press (2009) and ‘Withdrawing protection under Article 1C(5) of the 1951 Convention: Lessons from Australia’, 20(4) (2008) International Journal of Refugee Law.
Maria is undertaking a PhD on the topic of Article 1C(5) of the 1951 Refugees Convention, dealing with cessation of refugee status, under the supervision of Professor Susan Kneebone.
