Justin works in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Monash University as an Australian Postdoctoral Fellow, as well as liaising closely with the Division of Biological Engineering. He is currently investigating methods of harnessing energy from fluid flows, such as rivers and tidal flows, to develop new renewable energy technologies. As well as this, he is developing sophisticated flow simulation software, to model complex fluid-structure interactions, as occur in flows ranging from engineering structures, to the interactions of blood cells with artery walls.
Justin has also recently began work with industry, investigating ways to improve the efficiency of the man-machine cooperation of bicycle drivetrains.
