Dr Janet Bray is a Research Fellow with the Australian Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (Aus-ROC) within the Department of Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine (Critical Care Division).
Her background in cardiac and intensive care nursing has driven her research career to improve outcomes for critically ill cardiovascular patients -particularly in the hyper-acute phase. Areas of published scholarship include: Epidemiological and interventional studies in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, stroke awareness, response to acute stroke symptoms, and the prehospital and emergency care of stroke patients.
In the past five years, Dr Bray has been the recipient of five industry grants, and nine competitive conference prizes/travel grants. For her doctoral thesis exploring factors related to prehospital delay in stroke she was awarded a National Heart Foundation Scholarship and received the Alfred Deakin Medal for Best Doctoral Thesis. She currently serves on a number of state and national committees/working groups, society conference committees and grant review boards.
