Biography

Joanne McKenzie is a senior research fellow at the Monash Institute of Health Services Research. She has been affiliated with the Australasian Cochrane Centre since 2003, is a member of the Cochrane Statistical Methods Group, and a systematic review author.

Jo is currently undertaking a doctorate on methodological issues associated with continuous outcomes in randomised controlled trials and meta-analysis. She is also undertaking research investigating the conduct and reporting of randomised controlled trials and is interested in methodological issues associated with cluster trials.

She is the statistical investigator on three NHMRC funded project grants; each utilising a cluster randomised controlled trial design to investigate the effectiveness of interventions designed to improve clinicians’ concordance to evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in general practice and allied health. In addition, she provides statistical support for other research projects undertaken within the Centre.

Jo holds a Master of Science, Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Statistics and Bachelor of Science from the University of Otago, New Zealand.
