Biography

Dr Dickinson works in the Ritchie Centre, Monash Institute of Medical Research as an ARC funded Australian Post-Doctoral Research Fellow.

Hayley is passionate about optimizing the health of babies, to give them the best possible start in life. She is a supporter of the developmental origins of health and disease hypothesis, that suggests that our life-long health is largely determined by events that occur before we are born, and that the key to solving many of our global health issues lies in educating women about the importance of appropriate nutrition and abstaining from drugs (alcohol, tobacco etc.) and other environmental stressors before conception, during pregnancy and throughout the breastfeeding period.

A healthy fetus, is a healthy baby, is a healthy child, is a healthy adult and a healthy adult will have a healthy fetus and the cycle will continue, promoting a healthy human population.
