Biography

Alexander works in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University as a Research Fellow.

Alexander worked from 1990-2010 at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, where his primary research focused on the roles of cytokines in hypertension and restenosis after angioplasty. Additional studies examined the role of cytokines and the immune system in atherosclerosis. In 2011 he joined the Laboratory of Professor Jennifer Wilkinson-Berka to study the roles of cytokines and immune cells in diabetic retinopathy and retinopathy of prematurity.
