Biography

Professor Susan Davis (MBBS 1980, PhD Med 1989) is a leading women’s health researcher. In 2005 she became the inaugural Chair of Women’s Health in the Monash University Department of Medicine at the Alfred Hospital.

Professor Davis is a pioneer in the field of reproductive endocrinology. Her research examines hormonal deficiencies in women before and after menopause.

She has also played a vital role in raising awareness about women’s health in Indigenous communities..

Professor Davis was one of the Founding Directors of the Jean Hailes Foundation.

She has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and is a sought-after public speaker at major international events.

Professor Susan Davis is an NHMRC Principal Research Fellow and Chair of Women’s Health in the School of Public Health Monash University Melbourne. She undertakes research spanning basic, clinical and population health research to progress the understanding of the roles of oestrogens and androgens in the modulations of breast cancer, cardiovascular function, body composition and fat metabolism, cognitive function and mood, sexual function and bone and cartilage health. She is a clinical endocrinologist and runs the Specialist Women's Health Clinic at the Alfred Hospital and is a consultant endocrinologist at Cabrini Medical Centre, Melbourne.
