An Academic since 2002 on the Gippsland campus my first love is emergency and trauma nursing. I worked in both Metropolitan and rural clinical settings in emergency and intensive care units. Teaching nurses is the most amazing experience being able to help students to develop clinical skills, develop communication strategies and intra-professional attributes. As the Gippsland clinical Coordinator I have had the opportunity and great pleasure to work with our industry partners across the region to ensure students have best learning opportunities.
During my time at Monash Gippsland I have also taken every opportunity to engage in research activities, with work done in Malaysia, PNG and outback QLD. Although relatively new to research I have been actively participating in a number of projects, government reports, and consulting work. I have recently enrolled in the PhD program at Monash and am looking forward to exploring the topic family presence during resuscitation.
I currently hold a leadership role as Clinical Coordinator and head up a team which is evaluating current clinical programmes and involved in initiating innovate and exciting new ways to conduct our core business. I particularly enjoy a challenge and look forward to continue working for the benefit of Nursing as a profession.
