Biography

Before joining Monash University in 2005, Rita Wilson taught at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg) and the University of Melbourne.

Her research interests are both interdisciplinary and intercultural, combining literary and translation theories with studies of contemporary Italian literature and culture, and investigating questions of transnational identity as well as the relationship between writing, translation and autobiography. Her recent research focuses on the relationship between narrative form, experiences of migration and processes of cultural translation in the Italian context.
