Associate Professor Michael Daffern works in the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University. He primarily teaches on the Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) programme where he specialises in clinical and forensic psychology. His research interest is in the assessment, management and treatment of a range of offending behaviours.
Associate Professor Michael Daffern is a clinical psychologist by training. He has worked in prisons and in general and forensic mental health services in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Currently, he works within the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science, Monash University. He is also a Consultant Principal Psychologist with the Victorian Institute of Forensic Behavioural Science (Forensicare), and Special Lecturer within the Division of Psychiatry at The University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. Michael is internationally recognised for his research on behavioural assessment methods, risk assessment, violence, and aggression within institutions.
