Biography

Kym Brown is a lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance. 

Kym is a Lecturer teaching banking units. Her PhD undertaken at Monash University examined the financial development and bank cost and profit efficiency across the Asia Pacific region.

Previously she was employed by Deakin University as a research assistant and tutor, and by a number of small businesses.

Kym has been the Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) and currently supervises two honours students studying monetary policy impacts on Australian banks and Basel announcements on global banks.  Kym is also supervising a PhD student.

Community Service

Educational sponsorship (personal and through advocacy) of a group of Tibetan high school female students in Western China. Kym travelled to China in 2012 to visit these girls who all received a Monash hoodie and pencil case to help inspire their educational and life long aspirations despite living remotely.
