Biography

Chris works in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University as a Research Fellow.

After graduating in Medicine from Monash University, Chris Plakiotis trained in Psychiatry at Southern Health, Victoria, obtaining both his RANZCP Fellowship and a Certificate of Advanced Training in Adult Psychiatry in 2007.  He was subsequently appointed as Consultant Psychiatrist to Southern Health’s Aged Persons Mental Health Service in December 2007 and has continued with additional Advanced Training in Psychiatry of Old Age in this position.  He is also a Research Fellow with the Aged Mental Health Research Unit, Monash University.  His research interests are currently focussed on electroconvulsive therapy.
