Biography

Andrey Molotnikov completed his PhD in Materials Engineering.

Andrey research interests are focused on modelling the mechanical response of metals by using fundamental concepts of plasticity and dislocation theory. This research, which combines theoretical and experimental analysis, aims at simplifying the production of small parts used in a variety of devices like mobile phones and laptop computers, and also aims to make production more cost efficient for various industries.

He works in a multidisciplinary team composed of Professor Yuri Estrin, Dr. Rimma Lapovak and Professor Chris Davies, all of whom bring a wealth of experience in the areas of modelling mechanical responses, characterising new materials and producing small parts.
