Biography

Anne O’Rourke is a lecturer in the Department of Business Law and Taxation.

Anne joined the department in 2006 from the Department of Management, where she was a research fellow and tutor. Before joining Monash, Anne worked as an associate to a senior member of the AAT and as a legal research officer at the Consumer Law Centre of Victoria.

Her research interests include international law, employment law and human rights, corporate governance, workplace privacy and reproductive health rights. 

Anne teaches in the area of employment law and corporations law.

She is currently undertaking a PhD at Monash examining international framework agreements and multinational company compliance with international labour standards.

Anne is also vice-president of Liberty Victoria, the Victorian Council of Civil Liberties Inc. In her role, she regularly appears before senate committees and speaks at public forums and on radio commenting on topics such as torture, compliance with international conventions, anti-terror legislation and corporate social responsibility.
