Biography

I received my PhD from Monash University. I have also studied in New Zealand where I received degrees in American Studies and in Fine Arts (majoring in filmmaking). I am the co-editor of Youth, Media and Culture in the Asia Pacific (2008) and author of The Documentary: Politics, Emotion, Culture (2010). My research has appeared in a number of international journals including Camera Obscura, Jump Cut, Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies and Studies in Australasian Cinema. I am also a chief investigator in the Australian Research Council funded project titled The History of Asian Australian Cinema.
