Dr Charles Hardy - Researcher Profile

Biography

Charles works in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University as a Senior Research Fellow.  The broad goal of his work is to increase understanding of the immunological basis of lung disease. His research investigates (1) the effects of nanoparticles on pulmonary immunity and allergic asthma, (2) the role of activin A and its natural antagonist follistatin in the regulation of allergic asthma and cystic fibrosis, and (3) the role of diet and the gut microbiota in regulating pulmonary immune function and allergic asthma.
