Biography

Chemist Dr Anthony Auxilio works in the School of Chemistry as a Research Fellow. Currently, he is working on the development of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) with catalytic capabilities for the conversion of carbon dioxide into useful fuels.

Despite working originally on the development of inorganic pigments for ink encapsulation with application in paper coating technology, his passion to contribute to one of the major challenges of our time, i.e. energy sustainability, has led him to work on a variety of energy related projects. These include pyrolysis and combustion of oil shale, coal and biosolids; synthesis of microporous carbon with application in hydrogen adsorption technology; catalytic pyrolysis of waste plastics into diesel and fluidised bed coal drying.

He is a chartered chemist member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
