Biography

Tania Penovic is a lecturer in the Faculty of Law and a Deputy Director of the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law. She lectures in Torts, Civil Procedure and Human Rights in Australian Law. Tania's research explores a range of concerns about the operation of human rights norms, including the human rights of asylum seekers and indigenous peoples, the human rights obligations of corporations, reproductive rights and the intersection between human rights and the common law, particularly the law of tort as a source of human rights. Tania has been involved in a number of enquiries into federal and Victorian law reform and in professional human rights training programs for judges and government officials.
