Biography

Ian works in the School of Chemistry at Monash University as a Post Doctoral Researcher

 

 

Ian’s research areas of interest are:

 

·         I am working on a variety of novel magnetic materials including supramolecular arrays of spin-crossover iron(II) complexes, 4f lanthanide complexes and non-innocent 3d-nitroxide radical systems. The recent work on the ‘non-innocent’ nitronyl nitroxide transition metal complexes combined electrochemical, magnetic, spectroscopic and computational studies to enable a fuller understanding of the complicated electronic structure of the complexes in question and resulted in a rare example of a reductively induced oxidation of the central metal ions.
