Maria works in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Monash University as a Senior Lecturer.
Dr Lugaro is a researcher in the multidisciplinary field of Nuclear Astrophysics, studying the effect of nuclear reactions in stars and applying theoretical model predictions to our understanding of the chemical composition of stars and meteoritic materials. She obtained her Master degree from the University of Torino (Italy) and her Phd from Monash University in 2001. She worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge (UK) and at the University of Utrecht (the Netherlands) and is now a Senior Lecturer and ARC Future Fellow at Monash University.
