Biography

Dr East is a midwife with over 30 years of clinical and research experience. Her PhD involved the design, conduct, analysis and publication of a multicenter randomised controlled trial of fetal pulse oximetry in labour. She has over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is an editor with the Pregnancy and Childbirth Group of the Cochrane Collaboration. She currently holds an NHMRC project grant as CIA and an NHMRC Career Development Fellowship. Her experience provides a unique platform for merging academia and clinical leadership through her joint appointment with Monash University and Southern Health.
