Biography

Yen works in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University as a Senior Lecturer.

Yen Cheung graduated top of her class with an honours degree in Data Processing from Loughborough University of Technology, UK in 1986 and completed her doctorate in Engineering at the University of Warwick, UK in 1991. Her PhD study addressed the application of AI planning to assembly process planning. Between 1988-1994, she worked at the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick where she was responsible for the AI and IT courses in the Master programs in IT for Manufacture and Engineering Business Management. From 1988, she supervised to completion a large number of academic and industrial projects mainly in the areas of applied IT and AI in manufacturing. After moving to Australia in 1994, she joined the former School of Business Systems at Monash University. Her teaching responsibilities at Monash University include Management Information Systems for the MBA program at the Business School (1995-1997), Database Management Systems, Computer programming for Business, Systems Analysis and Design, Intelligent Decision Support Systems, Business Process Design, Modelling and Simulation. Her current research interests are in the areas of Collaborative Networks such as Electronic Markets, Intelligent Business Systems and application of Social Media. At Monash, she has supervised a number of postgraduate research projects to completion as well as actively publishing in both conferences and journals.
