Biography

Simone is an accredited practising dietitian and convenes Year 3 of the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics.  She is also the convenor of the 3rd and 4th year clinical education units whilst continuing to be employed by Southern Health as a senior dietitian.

Simone is an accredited practising dietitian and completed her BSc and Graduate Dip of Dietetics in 1990 at Deakin University. She has over 15 years experience as a clinical dietitian working in public and private hospitals and in private practice. She has experience in all major clinical areas including intensive care and endocrinology. She has a special interest in malnutrition screening and assessment and is committed to improving dietetic practice. She has presented nationally in the areas of health professional education as well as nutrition and dietetics, most recently at the Dietitians Association of Australia’s national conference in 2010.  She has also presented in the realm of allied health.

Simone has been affiliated with the Monash University Department Nutrition and Dietetics since 2006 as adjunct lecturer, clinical teacher and lead placement educator. She followed her passion for student training and completed her Graduate Cert in Health Professional Education in 2008 and has since done further study and published in this area. Simone has now taken the position of clinical education lecturer at Monash University where she hopes to help students excel in preparation for their professional dietetic employment whilst further pursuing her research interests. Simone also continues to be employed by Southern Health as a senior dietitian.
