Following twenty years in the banking and finance industry, Associate Professor Kevin Tant brings theory and practice to the research, learning and teaching environment at Monash. His philosophy emphasises behavioural finance and the interaction of disciplinary knowledge and theory to develop graduate attributes with a current focus on the applied learning environment, preparing students for the workforce.
Kevin is also concentrating on the continued use of digital technologies in the learning and teaching process. The Monash Trader software, pioneered by Kevin, and used in the Department's Simulated Teaching and Research Laboratory (STARLab) has been recognised by Faculty, the University and the Australian university learning and teaching sector.

Kevin received Faculty teaching awards in 2004 and 2006, the Vice-Chancellors Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2005 (Special Commendation) and 2007. In 2008 he was awarded an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning "for venturing beyond the norm in finance education by applying technology in student decision making and learning as the central part of teaching and scholarship".
Kevin is currently collaborating in research, learning and teaching with the Australian, Asian, United Kingdom and United States of Amercia environment.
