Susan Lee has taught across a range of undergraduate courses in the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery and Health Sciences. In undergraduate programs, she is particularly interested in professional nursing issues, interdisciplinary education, ethics, oncology and palliative care. Susan has been the postgraduate coordinator for a number of years and leads the specialty of Palliative Care in the Master of Nursing. She also teaches research and research ethics.
Although Susan's primary research focus is the area of decision making in Palliative Care, she has interests in a range of research studies in the Palliative Care area including; mesothelioma, models of care and education. Susan has experience in a range of qualitative research methods including grounded theory and case study and in descriptive quantitative methods. She is an accredited higher degrees supervisor and is currently supervising students in Masters degrees and PhD across a range of topics related to family care, nurses grief, cancer nursing, culture and evaluation. Susan holds a National Health and Medical Research Council research fellowship and grant and is currently investigating health professional education in decision making and advance care planning.
