Biography

After a brief stint in the pharmaceutical industry, Claudia has returned to Monash to take up a Post Doctorate research position in the Intergrative Cardiovascular Pharmacology group, led by Prof. Robert Widdop. Continuing on from research completed for her PhD at Monash University, her main research focus is in the area of stroke and the role of the Renin Angiotensin System (RAS) in determining stroke outcome.

More recently, Claudia's research has taken on a more clinical focus as she explores whether the AT-2 receptor could be a potential target for stroke therapy and investigates the neuroprotective properties of various modulators of the RAS. Her current research utilizes an integrated perspective and encompasses both in vivo and in vitro techniques to elucidate the complex cascade that contributes to the neuronal damage resulting from stroke.
