Biography

Irene works in the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business & Economics at Monash University as a Senior Lecturer.

Irene’s research interests are in the fields of integrated marketing communication, digital and social media communication, advertising, media control and marketing skills development. She has published in the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research and the Journal of Marketing Education. She is also a co-author of the successful Belch, Belch, Kerr and Powell, Advertising and Promotion: An integrated marketing communication perspective, McGraw-Hill, 2012. This was the first book to genuinely adopt an integrated marketing communication approach incorporating current professional and academic thinking. It has built on and complements the department’s research strength in advertising and brands.
