Leigh is an Associate Professor, Centre of Research Excellence in Rural and Remote Primary Health Care, (CRERRPHC) and Director of the Office of Research at the School of Rural Health, Bendigo.
Leigh Kinsman commenced in December 2006 following eight years with La Trobe University as a Lecturer in Nursing. He graduated with a Master of Health Science degree in 2001 having investigated the compliance of clinicians with clinical pathways. He received a Faculty Research Award for his thesis and obtained a La Trobe Faculty Research Grant to follow up recommendations arising from his study. Publications and conference presentations arising from his studies focused on barriers and facilitators to evidence-based management of heart disease.
Funded projects include emergency department research to improve waiting times, investigating the ability of health professionals to manage deteriorating patients and investigating heart disese in rural areas.
