Biography

Geoff Rose is Professor of Education for Sustainability with his appointment at Monash University split between the Institute of Transport Studies, in the Department of Civil Engineering, and the Monash Sustainability Institute (MSI). Through the Institute of Transport Studies he continues his research and teaching in sustainable transport. His role through MSI is focussed on the development of a university wide strategy to embed sustainability in education programs at Monash.

Geoff’s research focuses on sustainable transport, particularly travel demand management, and the development of intelligent transport systems through use of advanced technology. He is leading an Australian Research Council research project that is examining the role of powered-2-wheel vehicles in the context of sustainable urban mobility. He is also involved in research that is evaluating the potential for EcoDriver training to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
