Biography

Andy is Senior Lecturer in Communications and Media Studies. He is author of Investigating Audiences (2007) and Understanding Audiences, (2001). His new book, Youth and Media (2013) is in production. In addition to these works, Andy has published numerous journal articles and book chapters on media violence, reality television, political celebrity, alcohol marketing and youth and media. He is best known for his work on combining quantitative and quailtative methods in researching media audences. In this regard, Andy has written extensively about the connections between British cultural studies and cultivation analysis.
