RIS Service Desk - Getting Started

Information for Users

To arrange to have RM4 installed on your computer, please contact the Service Desk, and indicate three suitable dates/times (allow 15-20 minutes) - one of which will be confirmed. Alternatively, you can request to have an disc sent for you or your department's IT person to perform the installation.

Note: RM4 can be installed providing the computer is running Microsoft Windows.

Hardware Upgrade Information

How to change the RM4 hardware configuration on a PC:

1. Read the RM4 hardware upgrade instructions (rtf/pdf)
2. Download the following files to your appropriate Oracle Client home directory on your PC:
   sqlnet.ora
   tnsnames.ora  

Note: Please ensure you have read the above instructions before downloading these files.

Note: The above will not enable a complete installation of RM4. The Oracle client suite, hardware configuration files and associated ODBC data sources are also required.
