ROPES - NHMRC Identification Number Documentation

Please print this web documentation or the print-friendly pdf version to refer to while requesting an NHMRC Identification number within ROPES in the My Monash Portal.

Please note to access the ROPES system you will need to be an academic (not general or casual) staff member.

If you experience any difficulties with this process, please contact the Help Desk on 990 59240 or log a job.

 

1. Connect to the My Monash Portal.    https://my.monash.edu.au/

2. Login to My Monash Portal using your AuthCate user name and password.

3. Click on the tab, "Research".

4. Select Research's Online Project Enquiry System (ROPES) under the 'Administrative systems' sub-heading.

4a. Select ROPES Home page.

5. Select NHMRC Identification Number.

6. To obtain an NHMRC Identification number, press the button.

7. Next, you will be asked if you are the Chief Investigator A.

Select yes or no.

If you select 'yes', the following form will appear:

7a. Enter the Scientific Title for the NHMRC project you are applying for.
7b. Click on the circled icon on the right-hand side and then the following scheme selection screen will appear for you to select the appropriate  scheme.

8. However, if you select 'no' as the Chief Investigator A, the following form will appear:

8a. Enter the Scientific Title for the NHMRC project you are applying for.
8b. Click on the circled icon on the right-hand side and then the following scheme selection screen will appear for you to select the appropriate scheme.

8c. Enter Chief Investigator A's name.
8d. Enter Chief Investigator A's Faculty.
8e. Enter Chief Investigator A's Department.

9. Click save.

10. Your NHMRC Identification is now saved.

Your NHMRC Identification is now confirmed.  If you need to edit any of the details associated with your NHMRC ID Number after initial entry, including withdrawing your application, please click on the Edit button, pictured circled.

You have now successfully obtained an NHMRC Identification Number.


To Withdraw your NHMRC Identification Number

11. In order to withdraw your NHMRC ID number, WHICH CANNOT BE UNDONE, click on the edit button on the screen displayed above, circled. The following screen will display.

12.  Press the button circled, 'Withdraw this Project/Number'.  Remember, this action CANNOT BE UNDONE and will be permanently recorded.  The following screen will now display the status of your NHMRC ID application at withdrawn status as seen below.

 You have now successfully withdrawn your NHMRC Identification Number.
