Aims of the Program

The principal aims of the Monash Fellowships Program are to:

  1. attract internationally competitive researchers, including outstanding young overseas researchers
  2. provide the best possible research environment in which to undertake research of national and international significance
  3. support and provide, access to first-class research infrastructure
  4. develop and sustain national and international collaborations

HOW TO APPLY: Step by step instructions

1. Obtain a copy of the Guidelines and Forms:

Read the 2009 Monash Fellowships Program – Guidelines in conjunction with the 2009 Monash Fellowships Program – Conditions of Award.

2. Obtain a copy of the Application and Referee Report Forms

3. Contact the Head of Department/School/Centre

Applicants should contact the Head of the Department/School/Centre in which they propose to undertake research, PRIOR to submitting the application, to discuss the proposed project and obtain a list of the research priorities for the proposed faculty.

4. Completing the Application

The complete application is due on Thurs. 31 July 2008.  It should include:

     a. the application form
     b. additional 16 page proposal
     c. current curriculum vitae (CV)

 

Electronic copy:

                         - The application form must be submitted electronically

Hard copies:

                         - Five (5) copies are required of the entire application i.e. a. b. and c. above 

                           (1 original and 4 copies).

5. Referee reports

Three referee reports (using the proforma) are due on Tues. 5 August 2008.    

     a. one from a current post-doctoral/line management supervisor, or the most recent supervisor since the applicant has gained his/her PhD

     b. two from eminent scholars who are internationally recognised experts in the discipline.

 

The applicant is responsible for sending the partially completed referee report forms to their referees (along with the application and guidelines).

 

The referees are responsible for sending the referee reports directly to the Monash Research Office. Refer to address details above.

 

6. Head of Academic Unit Report

The Head of Academic Unit Report form (using the proforma) is due on Tues. 5 August 2008.  

 

The applicant is responsible for sending the partially completed Head of Academic Unit Report form to the Head of Academic Unit (along with the application and guidelines).

 

The Head of Academic Unit is responsible for sending the signed report directly to the Monash Research Office. Refer to address details above.
