The Holberg International Memorial Prize
The Board of the Ludvig Holberg Memorial Fund hereby invites nominations for the Holberg International Memorial Prize for outstanding scholarly work in the academic fields of the arts and humanities, social science, law and theology.
The prize, which was established by the Norwegian Parliament in 2003, is awarded annually by the Board of the Ludvig Holberg Memorial Fund. The prize for 2009 is NOK 4.5 million (approx. 570,000/$900,000). The winner of the prize will be announced in September 2009, and the award ceremony will take place in Bergen on 25 November 2009.

Grants Program
The Padi Foundtion encourages and supports underwater science, environmental projects, and education. The Foundation will fund and assist worthwhile projects that will enrich mankind's understanding of the aquatic environment and encourage sensitivity to and protection of the delicate ecological balance of underwater life. The Foundation will also fund worthwhile projects to increase understanding of sport diving physics and physiology that will benefit the general diving public and add to the scientific understanding of man's relationship and ability to survive in the underwater environment.
The Foundation will consider proposals with budgets up to $20,000 although the average for proposals will be on the order of $5,000 to $10,000.

Grants Program
The sponsor seeks to improve the health of children through research that offers substantial promise for meaningful advances in the prevention and treatment of children's diseases.
The Fund's median award is $230,000, with the majority between $150,000-$300,000. The Fund will participate in the payment of indirect costs up to an amount of seven percent of the yearly Grant budget excluding equipment allocations.
