| Department of Industry, Innovation, Science and Research (DIISR) | Top of Page | | International Science Linkages - Australia-China Special Fund for S&T Cooperation [scheme page]Research Office Closing Date: 10/03/2008 Granting Body Closing Date: 28/03/2008 Australia-China Special Fund round 8 will open on 1 February 2008 and close 5pm (AEST) 28 March 2008 The Australian Government in conjunction with the Government of the People's Republic of China has established the Australia-China Special Fund for S&T Cooperation (Australia-China Special Fund). The Australia-China Special Fund is jointly managed by the Australian Government Department Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR) and its Chinese counterpart, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). To be considered under the Australia-China Special Fund each applicant must submit an application to their respective Government. If the project involves collaboration with multiple Australian partners then one Australian partner should be the applicant. Under the Australia-China Special Fund the Australian Government will contribute up to $2 million per round. |

| Prime Minister's Prizes for Science & Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year [scheme page]Research Office Closing Date: 29/04/2008 Granting Body Closing Date: 09/05/2008 Online nominations due The Prime Minister's Prize for Science is awarded for an outstanding specific achievement in any area of science advancing human welfare or benefiting society. In this context, science encompasses the physical, chemical, biological and technological sciences, mathematics and engineering. The Prize comprises an embossed gold medallion and a grant of $300,000 and may be awarded to an individual or jointly to up to four individuals, if the achievement is a collaborative or team effort. |

The FAST Programme promotes and supports scientific and technological cooperation between Australian and French researchers in both public and private sectors. The fund will assist Australian researchers to increase their participation in leading edge scientific research with Indian scientists, to raise the profile of Australian research, and to support the development of strategic alliances between Australian researchers and Indian researchers. Science refers to the natural and physical sciences for the purposes of the AISRF. |
| National Innovation Awareness Strategy (NIAS) - National Science Week Grants [scheme page]Research Office Closing Date: 10/10/2007 Granting Body Closing Date: 19/10/2007 Funding is available on a competitive basis from the Science Connections Programme (SCOPE) for projects to be conducted during National Science Week 2007 (18 to 26 August 2007) that focus public attention on the role that science, engineering, innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship play in daily lives. The maximum amount available per project is $40,000 and the minimum amount is $2,000. |
