Research Codes and Lists

NOTE: On the 31st of March 2008 the new Australian and New Zealand Standard Research Classification (ANZSRC), 2008 specification was released by the ABS, effectively replacing the existing RFCD/SEO classifications we've been using.

Please continue to use the existing RFCD and SEO classifications until resources such as the online grants/contracts coversheets and publication collection proformas have been updated to reflect the above changes.

The new specification for the classification of research outputs (grants, publications, etc.) significantly expands upon - and is numerically different from the old - and will be implemented, once enterprise systems that record this information (e.g. ResearchMaster) have been updated to accept the new specification's codes, etc.
