The ski base of the outrigger can be locked in a vertical position.  When used for walking the spiked ends prevent slipping om ice.

A cord on the handle returns the ski to the horizontal skiing position.

This ski outrigger is designed for disabled three point skiing and is based on a forearm crutch design.

The construction of the ski outrigger consists of a standard walking crutch, while the specially manufactured ski outrigger assembly is chrome plated to prevent erosion.
