About CADCAM:As part of our commitment to support for the industry and prosthetics and engineering focus we have recently taken delivery of the Seattle ShapeMaker Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing equipment. In a unique collaboration between Seattle Limb Systems (formerly M+IND) and Reis Orthopaedic, REHABTech will support the system and give interested facilities the opportunity to use, learn about, experiment and gain experience with the system at a fraction of the cost of purchasing an entire suite. |

This system uses a computer as a tool for the prosthetist orthotist to automate their work, but does not replace the need for the expert clinical skills of prosthetists and orthotists. On the contrary this system requires a high degree of clinical knowledge and skill if it is to be used successfully. As with any new tool, careful use and training are essential for the efficient use of this equipment. REHABTech intends to conduct future CAD/CAM training courses to provide prosthetist/orthotists with hands-on experience using the system.
