The internet
for Health professionals involved in Prosthetics & Orthotics
Course aims:
At the end of the course all participants will have:
- An understanding of the use of the Internet to their work
- An understanding of the information services available for prosthetics and orthotics
- The ability to use browsing software and the World Wide Web)
Course content:
- An introduction to information and educational resources available in prosthetics and orthotics
- An introduction to software, CD ROMs and the Internet
- Overview of browsing software (for the Internet)
- Subject and information searching
- Review of prosthetic/orthotic sites on the Internet
- e-mail: Electronic communicating
- Basics of writing a web page
Course method:
Live Internet access, short presentations,
"hands-on" exercises, a copy of interesting P and O sites,
registrants to copy interesting information to a "take-home" disc.
Participants will be registered and issued with a certificate at the end of the session.
Registration:
Includes a manual covering course information and discs containing information and bookmarks
for relevant sites.
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
