for Health professionals involved in Prosthetics & Orthotics

Course aims:
At the end of the course all participants will have:

An understanding of the use of the Internet to their work
An understanding of the information services available for prosthetics and orthotics
The ability to use browsing software and the World Wide Web)

Course content:

An introduction to information and educational resources available in prosthetics and orthotics
An introduction to software, CD ROMs and the Internet
Overview of browsing software (for the Internet)
Subject and information searching
Review of prosthetic/orthotic sites on the Internet
e-mail: Electronic communicating
Basics of writing a web page

Course method:
Live Internet access, short presentations, "hands-on" exercises, a copy of interesting P and O sites, registrants to copy interesting information to a "take-home" disc. Participants will be registered and issued with a certificate at the end of the session.

Registration:
Includes a manual covering course information and discs containing information and bookmarks for relevant sites. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
